Lake Blue Ridge is located in Fannin County, Georgia, the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1930, the Toccoa Electric Power Company assembled a dam on the Toccoa River forming Lake Blue Ridge. The lake encompasses 3,290 acres of water and 60 miles of shoreline. Currently, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) controls Lake Blue Ridge for hydroelectric power production; however, the sections located in the Chattahochee National Forest are monitored by the U.S. Forest Service. Along the shorelines, there are beautiful homes, recreational beaches, campsites, and the Lake Blue Ridge marina which offers boat rentals, boat slips, and dining.
